Hurricane Katrina and the Devastation.
Hurricane Katrina, August 23, 2005, category five hurricane. Katrina took place in Bahamas. It also hit the Gulf coast. When the Hurricane arrived it was a category 3, with winds that have a speed of 100-140 miles per hour.
Lots of people in Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana had to leave there homes. News stated that caused over $100 billion of damage.
Hurricane Katrina hit the city of New Orleans. It was a tragic day for the citizens of New Orleans. Plenty of lives were taken and homes were damaged. It took years for every one to get back their lives. It was hard and took a lot of work but they accomplished it. Today they are still places that are still damaged from Hurricane Katrina, but the people are what make the city still stay strong.
